Health & Hygiene
We take the health of children in our care seriously; infections in young children are common as they are still building up their immunity.  We have a strict cleaning, infection controls, and exclusion procedures in place to combat this issues.

Medication
If your child requires medication, parents or authorised nominees must complete a medication form and submit this to staff.  Do not leave medication in your child’s bag.  All medication must be clearly labelled. Showing that medication is prescribed to your child and the dosage required.  A letter must accompany non-prescription medicine from your doctor or pharmacist.

Emergency Evacuations
Emergency evacuations are practiced at our centre every quarter (3 months).  These include fire evacuations, gas leaks and intruder lockdowns. Every child in attendance for that quarter must participate in the drills. Please remember to sign your child in and out each day as these attendance sheets enable us to account for all children on the premises.

Accidents, Incidents & First Aid
Our centre take the safety of children in our care seriously, and while accidents are bound to occur in the early developmental years, we have created learning environments that are safe and well supervised.  Each day our staff conduct safety walks, hazard identifications and risk assessments on the centre, combined with other strategies to ensure that your child is safe.
We have educators trained in first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis management on site at all times.  Should an accident occur, our staff will document the details and notify families.

Nutrition
Meals provided at our service will provide at least 50% of your child’s recommended daily dietary requirements. We will promote and support families to develop healthy eating habits to children in conjunction with programs such as Munch & Move and Get Up & Grow.

Child Protection
All staff working with children are Mandatory Reporters.  This means that by law, if they have observations that may indicate that a child is at “risk of harm” they must report it to the proper authorities.

Family Communication
Communication between families and our centre is an important part of daily life. Good educator-to-Parent communication contributes significantly to the success of your child’s development and our educational program.

Nathalie  Certificate 3 Child Care Educator The idea of Freedom center emerged in 2022 when I was working in different Day care in Sydney and noticed that the children wasn’t in the center of the educational program but have to fit in it.  It became obvious that children should be free to choose their activities by themself and being listen by the educator about what they feel instead of be directed by them one activity to an other.  In 2023, I was hosting the bread baking and pottery classes at the French school of Maroubra as AES teacher that inspired me to propose original and fun activities in my centre. I also came from a big country side family with many relatives who are farmers. That teach me the basics of growing my own foods, cook it, put in conserve and storage. It is what I want to offer in this centre, learn to grow vegetables in a share garden in Maroubra, show to the kids how to cook them and taste the incredible food that we made together. Before became a childcare educator, I used to be a firefighter in France so I know all the emergencies procedures and the security of children is my priority. Wwcc  CPR First aid Police check clear

Spirit Of The Centre
Inspired by Montessori, Freedom is a centre where your children will understand how to become independent and self confident by immersive learning and connecting to his environment. For Freedom this involves time for outdoor activities, games, learning and well-being. Freedom provides a wide range of activities to awaken children to music, nature, art, animals, new languages and themselves. Intellectual development is taken into account as well as social, physical and emotional development. Freedom is a place of well-being where plants, animals and beings in the moment, live in harmony. Freedom through its concept of freedom will not share any personal point of view on religions, politics or supporting a sport team considering what is important are our similarities, not our differences. The morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea are made with organic fruits and vegetables from local organic producers «Farmer and Son », the meat are from family owned butcher shop « Peters meat » providing quality produce.
